As you all should be aware I began this "diet", lifestyle change only about a month and a half ago. So therefore, the reality of how hard this change can be is still fresh in my mind. I would like to share a few tips for the individuals out there who are probably thinking, "this "diet" is too limited, I won't be able to do it," or "this probably costs too much money, and I don't have time to cook everyday." Let's put your worries to be with some short easy tips to begin.
1. BE COMMITTED. HAVE A PURPOSE. If you begin this "diet" only for the weight loss benefits that others are receiving then you are only getting half of the story. Not only do you loose weight but you will gain energy, feel overall better, and in the long run you are preparing your body for success while removing unneeded toxins in your body. This "diet" can change your chances of diabetes, osteoporosis, and more biological and hereditary diseases. Lower your risks of loosing energy as you get older, have healthier skin and a leaner body. BE COMMITTED to wanting to improve your health and to feel better. HAVE A PURPOSE of beginning this lifestyle change, such as set goals of weight loss or lowering your blood sugar (my personal favorite) take this seriously because your body will.
2. DON'T OVERTHINK IT. One of the most common things I hear from others is "how do you live without rice?" (I'm Asian) or "how do you resist temptation when at group gatherings/eating out?" IT IS SIMPLE. Avoid what you cannot eat and erase those foods out of your mind completely. I promise the first 2 weeks or so will be hard but by the 3rd day you will be feeling better. You will be thinning out and people will notice. After you commit to those 2 weeks it won't even be a second thought of what NOT to eat. You will have the hang out it and your mind will be able to control what and how to eat. The wonderful thing is you don't need to count your carbs, or check those calories on every label because ultimately there are NO LABELS. All your food will be fresh and natural and made by YOU, now doesn't that sound just amazing?
3. BE CREATIVE. Have fun with your meals, add something to your lifestyle that you didn't before! Not only will you being eating the full grown natural foods we were meant to eat but maybe begin walking and enjoy the physical nature around you. Make this a happy and eventful experience. Try the "diet" with another person! My sister and I began this together, we are not the type of people to stick to something for this long, but together we were able to push through the 2 weeks and now we make these wonderful dinners just for us! Pamper yourself, make your meals tasteful, put them on decorative plates, set the table, sit down and relax. ENJOY your meal time, make it something that you crave during the day. Love this lifestyle and the results will completely love you back.
